COVID Response
Current COVID guidelines from the church Executive Committee as of July 2022:
"We wanted to establish guidelines that would be easier to interpret, even as community levels might change from week to week. We voted to update our safety guidelines as follows:
"We wanted to establish guidelines that would be easier to interpret, even as community levels might change from week to week. We voted to update our safety guidelines as follows:
These protocols align with the CDC Community Level recommendations and we hope everyone will find these new guidelines clearer and more accommodating. The designation of high, medium, or low each week will be based on Augusta County community transmission levels. To check the level for Augusta County, you can go to the CDC's Community Levels tool and scroll down the page to the "COVID-19 County Check". Select "Virginia" and "Augusta" from the state and county pulldown menus, then hit "Go". This information is updated weekly on Thursdays. We will do our best to communicate when the community level is high, but do not plan to send weekly updates during periods of low and medium transmission."
Pastor Beth writes, "I celebrate you for bearing with one another in love as we have tried to navigate this time together. You truly have been 'held together in love' as Paul described so brilliantly in 1 Corinthians 13: 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.' As always, the church Board encourages vigilance and care by all members of the congregation in making the decision to stay home from worship or community events if you are feeling any symptoms of illness. Whether you feel ill or have concerns about in-person gathering, we are excited to continue offering opportunities for digital worship through our website and Facebook page. I will continue to walk with you and meet you where you are if remaining home is still the best choice for you or your family."
